If you've never stayed in a
youth hostel, this one above the train station is the place to break the habit of a lifetime.
The rooms are simple but come with a bathroom, bed linen and free wireless internet. The
service is arguably Lillehammer's friendliest and there's a spick-and-span communal kit-
chen. And if you've a train or bus to catch, it couldn't be more convenient.

Fjord Pass network, this upmarket hotel opposite the train station has a range of attractive
rooms,someofwhichreflectthehotel's110-yearhistorywithoriginalartworksinthepub-
lic areas and some of the rooms. The recently renovated budget rooms are simpler but well
priced.

Although you wouldn't know it
from the lurid yellow exterior, this hotel was built from the shell of an old mill. Fully re-
furbished with modern rooms, the hotel has mill memorabilia in the public areas and flat-
screen TVs and comfy beds in the rooms; the straw on the pillows is a nice touch. The
rooftop bar (open from 8pm to 2am Monday to Saturday) has fine views and the architec-
ture is distinguished. Parking costs Nkr55 per day.
