back to Skien. It's also possible to jump off (or board) in Lunde, the halfway point,

A great way to see the canal is by canoe, kayak or bicycle, and the ferries will
transport your own boat/bicycle.

commodation to be built of brick and mortar then this is the village's only hotel, but it's
dated and overpriced so we'd recommend trying a night under canvas instead.
Getting There & Away
If you're planning on taking a boat from Lunde back to Akkerhaugen, a bus leaves from
the campsite at 12.15pm (Nkr45) stopping outside the hotel at 12.26pm.

Industrial Skien has little to detain you, unless you're setting off along the Telemark Canal
or you're a fan of the great Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen.
