largest hotel has a great waterfront position, stylish rooms and a decent restaurant (mains
from Nkr125), although the architecture is a real eyesore.
Pizza Inn INTERNATIONAL €€
( 38 32 22 22; Elvegata 22; pizza/pasta from Nkr160/215, mains Nkr130-200) This
pleasant harbour-side restaurant has breezy outdoor tables to pass a summer's afternoon or
cosy booths for a winter's evening. The service is good, as is the food. The prawn salad
(Nkr119) seems to contain a good proportion of the Atlantic Ocean's prawns.
Fiskebrygga INTERNATIONAL €€
( 38 32 04 90; Elvegata 9; mains Nkr130-200; 10am-4pm Mon, Tue & Sat, to
6pm Wed & Fri, to 7pm Thu) Possibly the nicest place in Flekkefjord for a light meal,
this cafe-style restaurant next to the tourist office does fish and chips, marinated spare ribs,
delicious cakes and ice cream. It has a certain urban sense of style, which is lovely in quiet
little Flekkefjord.

Getting There & Away
The Nor-Way Bussekspress bus between Kristiansand (Nkr240, two hours) and Stavanger
(Nkr240, two hours) passes through Flekkefjord.
Flekkefjord to Egersund
If your explorations of Norway are limited to the south coast, and you have your own
vehicle, forsake the E39 and take the coastal Rv44 to Egersund - it's one of southern Nor-
way's most beautiful drives and a taster of the kind of scenery you're missing elsewhere in
