One Ocean Dive Center DIVING
( 91 62 85 25; www.oneocean.no ; Dvergsnesveien 571, Odderhei; 1/2 dives with
equipment from Nkr950/1300) A professional centre that runs dives to wrecks, which in-
clude a downed plane and even a mine sweeper. It's 8km east of Kristiansand.
Sleeping
Kristiansand can be expensive for what you get, which may be nothing unless you book
early for summer, especially during the July school-holiday period when prices soar. There

Kristiansand Dyrepark 10km east of town. One unwelcome Kristiansand quirk is the 10am
check-out time in some places.
Yess Hotel HOTEL €€
Offline map ( 38 70 15 70; www.yesshotel.no ; Tordenskjolds gate 12; s/d from
Nkr695/795; ) This is a classic example of the kind of antiseptic, but, for Norway,
good value 'back to basics' hotels that seem to be slowly sprouting up in bigger towns
throughout the country. The rooms at this new hotel are livened up with wall-to-wall pho-
tographs of trees. Some rooms have a double bed with a single perched, bunk-bed style, on
top. Others just have a standard double bed. It has a cafe with free breakfast and parking
for Nkr130 per day. All up it's a great deal.
