spills out into the street in summer and is a terrific place to tuck into decent-sized snacks

Café Ibsen CAFE €
(Henrik Ibsens gate 12; 10am-4pm Mon-Sat, noon-4pm Sun) Come here for deli-
cious pastries. It's opposite the Ibsenhuset Museum. The owners can also sort you out with
a cheap room if required.
Café Galleri BAR €
(Storgata 28; 5-7pm Sun-Thu, 3pm-2am Fri & Sat) The centre of Grimstad's night-
life has DJs, jam sessions, quiz nights and a crowd that seems to spring from Grimstad's
woodwork on the most unlikely of nights.

Getting There & Away
The Grimstad Rutebilstasjon is on Storgata at the harbour. Nor-Way Bussekspress buses
between Oslo (Nkr350, 4½ hours) and Kristiansand (Nkr98, one hour) call at Grimstad
three to five times daily. Nettbuss buses to/from Arendal run once or twice hourly (Nkr53,
30 minutes).
