Most are in delightfully restored homes with period furnishings and are ideal if you plan to
spend a week here; daily rates are cheaper outside the peak summer season, and booking
for a week or more always reduces the daily cost significantly. The bigger apartments have
room for several people.

you can plonk a tent. Children will love all the activities and facilities on offer (boat rides,
playgrounds, 'elephant' showers, giant bouncing balloons and so on).

The only official hotel accommodation in the town centre, the Risør lacks the attention to
detailyou'dexpectforthisprice.Thewaterfrontlocationis,however,awinner.It'soppos-
ite the aquarium 500m west of the harbour.
Eating
Around, or just back from, the harbour you'll find several moderately priced cafes and res-
taurants.
Kast Loss SEAFOOD €€

night Sat, 1-10pm Sun) There's a Mediterranean twang to this harbour-front restaurant.
Seafood is, not surprisingly, the big deal here, and locals rate Kast Loss as about the best-
value restaurant in town. If seafood isn't your thing then it also serves up good pizzas for
around Nkr150.
