NATIONAL TOURIST ROUTES
The Norwegian Public Roads Administration has 18 specially designated roads (cov-
ering 1850km) known as 'National Tourist Routes' ( www.turistveg.no/in-
dex.asp ?lang=eng), each one passing through signature Norwegian landscapes. The
plan is to set up regular lookouts and information points along these pre-existing
routes. Of most interest to visitors of this scheme is the easy identification of some of
Norway's most scenic routes, and help in planning and making the most of your trip
along Norway's most picturesque drives.
