In this exercise, you'll turn off tabs, remove groups, create a custom group, and add com-
mands to the new group. Then you'll create a tab and move predefined groups of buttons
to it. Finally, you'll reset the ribbon to its default state.
SET UP
You need the GardenCompany13 database located in the Chapter13 practice
file folder to complete this exercise. Be sure to use the practice database for this chapter
rather than continuing on with the database from an earlier chapter. Open the database,
and if you want, save your own version to avoid overwriting the original. Then follow the
steps.

Display the
Customize Ribbon
page of the
Access Options
dialog box.

In the
Customize the Ribbon
list, clear the check boxes of the
External Data
and
Database Tools
tabs. Then click
OK
to remove all but the
File
,
Home
, and
Create
tabs.
You cannot remove the File tab.

Redisplay the
Customize Ribbon
page of the
Access Options
dialog box, and in the
Customize the Ribbon
list box, select the
Database Tools
check box.
Now let's work with groups.

In the
Customize the Ribbon
list box, click the plus sign adjacent to
Database Tools
to display the groups on this tab.

On the left, display the
Choose commands from
list, and click
Main Tabs
. Then in the
list box, click the plus sign adjacent to
Database Tools
to display the groups that are
predefined for this tab.
