less than 25%. Generally speaking, small to medium-sized businesses mostly use
liquid fuels. The results of the field test conducted this time especially in relation
to liquid fuels are very important.
A case analysis on the basis of burner types is shown in Figure 5.84 . It shows
the types of burners, on the basis of regenerative media types, adopted in the high
performance industrial furnaces under this field test project. The burners are largely
divided into two types: direct firing and radiant tube burners. Gas treatment furnaces
are classified as an independent category because they employ a honeycomb as the
regenerative medium, and the device itself cannot be clearly categorized as a type
of burner. As a result, direct-firing burners accounted for 66% of all burners, while
radiant tube burners and gas treatment furnaces, respectively, accounted for 21 and
13%.
As for the structures of regenerative media, ball-type media accounted for 48%
and honeycomb-type media 36%. With the ratio for gas treatment furnaces included,
the honeycomb media ratio increased to 50%. The structure of regenerative media
is an important factor when determining the performance of high temperature air
