DRINKING AND NIGHTLIFE
There's an excellent choice of places to drink , and even the hippest bars often serve food and so have a bit of a restaurant
atmosphere. Although it's not uncommon for Gothenburgers to drink themselves to oblivion, the atmosphere around the
bars is generally non-aggressive. Gothenburg's main nightclubs are mostly clustered in the city centre around Vasagatan,
Avenyn and Storgatan.
BARS AND PUBS
We've listed some of the city's most popular pubs and
bar-restaurants below. The bar scene along Avenyn
notwithstanding, the atmosphere is generally a bit low-
key in the city centre at night. Having first sampled the
delights of Avenyn, head for the area around Järntorget
in Haga where there are great places to drink into the
early hours.

Sun 5pm-11pm.
