There was a nearby farmhouse and it appeared the farm had incorporated some stone build-
ings that would have been part of the original Serjilla.
We moved on to Aleppo, making a café stop on the way. Outside the café there was a cage
containing two large baboons screaming and acting as if they were demented. A couple of
people threw them some food and then a small child picked up some nuts that had fallen to
the ground close to the cage. Without warning one of the baboons reached out of the cage
and grabbed the child's hand. There was a mighty scream of fright from the child, the par-
ents and those of us standing around and otherwise watching.
