120 metre long storage facility and two vaulted stone stables capable of holding up to a
thousand horses. This area of the structure was decorated with Crusader frescoes. Other
storage facilities were dug into the rock below the fortress and it is estimated that the Hos-
pitallers could have withstood a siege for five years. The place was a veritable rabbit war-
ren.
