spend more time waiting for their requests to be satisfied, resulting in a degradation
in the throughput at that node.
The linear case was expected to perform better than the constant one, but
the observed difference was insignificant. We expect this difference to be more
pronounced with longer experimental runs and a larger number of subtasks.
