A Chicken's Life Cycle:
The chicken's life cycle begins with the fertilization of the egg by the rooster; the hen lays
the egg and sits on it for a period of 21 days. After this period of time, the chick break out of
the shell and a chick is born. The chick then grows and is ready to lay eggs in 4 to 6 months,
depending on the breed. The lighter egg laying breeds will start laying before the heavier
breeds. The cycle then starts again.
