Because more of the light is now direct, the number of bounces can be decreased to 2 or even back to
the default of 1. This will save render time without much loss of quality. The finished render with this light
setup will look something like Figure 9-41 .
These settings can be used to produce shots from many angles and can even be used for interior shots.
Because the model now has a ceiling, interior renders will have a more complete and finished appearance. If
the project calls for many interior shots, it is a good idea to model light fixtures in the ceiling that correspond
to the Point Lights that are lighting the interior. Just like other details, these can be modeled from simple
geometry such as a thin cylinder with a few small bevels and some simple materials applied. Figure 9-42
shows a finished render of an interior surface based on the evening light setup.
