In-Depth Information
Adding some reflection can help to add the look of wax or polish to the surface. Adding some Specular
and Fresnel amounts, turning on Match Specular (to add equal reflections), and turning on Blurry Reflection
in the Material adds the reflections. If the reflections seem too bright, create an instance of the Diffuse Color
layer and set the effect to Specular Color. Figure 9-24 shows the floor with reflective properties enabled.
When your flooring material is complete, right-click the material group and select Save Preset. Place the
preset material in the folder with your presets from previous chapters for easy access and then return to the
main floor plan scene.
Inverted Material Layers
In some cases, imported materials from presets will have the texture layers inverted. If the material does
not show everything that appeared before making it a preset, check to make sure that the texture layers
are in the correct order. This will matter only with textures that are blended (having some opacity below
100% or a blend mode that is anything besides Normal).
To apply the new wood material to the designated place in the scene, select the material group for the
wood floor in the Shader Tree and then double-click the newly created preset. With the new floor in place,
the scene should look like Figure 9-25 .

the floor in the scene.
