In-Depth Information
Rounded corners can be added just as easily as the last rounded wall. Select the two edges that make up
any corner and use the Edge Bevel. Since these are small details, a lower Round Level can be used. A setting
of 5 m should suffice. Beveling these corners about 25 mm provides a good subtle detail. Repeat this on any
outer corners with 90° angles. Once again, the borders on the floors will bevel into even quad polygons, and
the n-gons will remain isolated in the center areas. This is a detail that is not always necessary but takes little
time and adds additional polish to the model.
Finishing the Walls
At this point, the walls can be created from the flat set of polygons, and some additional details can be added.
If you added materials to the floors and walls, the walls can easily be selected by looking in the Lists tab (in
the lower-right corner of the screen). You can find statistics on all of your polygons (as well as points and
edges) in this section. To select all of your polygons with the Wall material, go to the Lists tab Statistics
Polygons (open by clicking the arrow to the left of the text) Material. In this section, you will see a listing
of any materials in the active mesh layer(s) and the number of polygons that have that material assignment.
Clicking the + at the left of the list will add any of those polygons to the current selection. With the walls
selected, use the Bevel tool to create the walls. Eight-foot ceilings (about 2.5 m) are pretty typical.
