Notice that in the image, a wall is spanning the open area on one side of the kitchen (the side connected
to the living room). This can be helpful for several reasons. It keeps walls that are on either side of an open
space even, and it can be useful for making transitions in flooring. Remember that these walls are really
only templates at this point, and when the time comes to add height to the walls, the open areas can either
be excluded or removed afterward very easily. In the case of the wall in the kitchen, you want to include an
archway, so you will extend this section up and treat it like a doorway when the walls are in place. Just as
with the exterior walls, leave out complex sections because these can be added easily after the rest of the
walls are in place.
Using the Bridge Tool
When two sides of a wall are cut into existing walls, the Bridge tool can be used to attach the open ends.
