There are two ways to increase the illumination that comes from this kind of light: Luminous Intensity
and Scale. The simple fix is to increase the Luminous Intensity setting. The only problem with this is the
increase in noise that is introduced as this value increases. To combat this issue, you need to increase the
number of light rays used to calculate the lighting in the Global Illumination properties (Render Properties
Irradiance Caching Irradiance Rays). However, this will result in higher render times. The other option
is less obvious but works very well. When light is calculated, it is based on the area from which the light is
generated. Larger area equals more light, so an increase in size will generate more light without the render-
ing artifacts, as shown in Figure 7-13 .
