add a gradient for the Transparent Amount option, with Incidence as the Input Parameter (this should be
the default when the gradient layer is created), and set two keys at 0% and 100%. The value at these two
keys should be 80% and 10%, respectively. Add another gradient for Diffuse Amount and set the gradient
from 5% to 40%. Then duplicate (or instance) that gradient and set it to Reflection Amount. By doing this,
you will have a smooth transition between mostly transparent (when facing the viewer) and mostly opaque/
reflective (when facing perpendicular). Figure 6-40 illustrates this combination.
Figure 6-40: Adding gradients to Reflection, Diffuse, and Transparent Amounts can increase the realism
of the transparent material and accentuate details on the model.
