Another option with solid materials is to simulate a small amount of light penetration, as you saw in the
marble material on the pedestal. This is common for many surfaces that are not transparent but have some
level of translucency. Subsurface scattering can be used to this end. Setting the Subsurface Amount value to
25% (under the Material Trans tab in the material properties) will create a soft, translucent effect. Scattering
Distance should be set relative to the scale of the object and the thickness of its surfaces. In this case, 15
mm is a good distance to help illustrate the thickness of the object. In areas where the bottle is thinner, the
surface will appear to be lighter. The color setting should be similar to that of the diffuse color, but in the
case of subsurface scattering, a lighter version of the color should be used. In some instances, the underlying
