2. Activate the Axis Rotate tool (which resides underneath the rotation tool in the Basic tab, or with the
hotkey Alt/Option+Shift+E).
3. Set the rotation to 180 degrees and then drop the tool. Before dropping the falloff, select the Scale
tool.
4. Use the zx planar handle (the green circle) and scale down to about 20 percent.
At this point, your model should look something like the object shown in Figure 5-25 .

Creating the Contours of the Bottle
Now you will use different falloffs to create the bulges and other contours of the bottle.
1. Select a Cylinder falloff and, in the front view, drag it out so that it covers a section in the middle of
the bottle where you want a bulge to occur.
2. Use the xz planar handle (the green circle) to scale the selection outward to create the contour.
3. While both the Scale tool and the Falloff are active, you can adjust the shape reset (for the falloff),
the position of the falloff, and the amount of scaling. This enables you to place the deformations in
your surface interactively and organically.
4. Repeat this process as you see fit to add interest to the shape of your bottle. In the example shown in
Figure 5-26 , I used three separate operations to arrive at the desired look.
