In-Depth Information
In addition to these preset environments, many photographic HDR environments can be found for free
or purchased on the Internet. It is also possible to create your own HDR environments by using bracketed
photos at various exposure levels.
Luminous Textures
Adjusting the Luminous Intensity setting on a material causes it to cast light on the scene when global illu-
mination is enabled. This can be used to simulate a broad range of lighting—from television and computer
screens, to photographic lighting equipment, to simple glowing objects. Because the global illumination en-
gine is highly optimized, using luminous objects and textures can produce high-quality, realistic, and fast
rendering solutions.
