as there is no reason to invest in BCSAF clinkers for reducing Co 2 emissions
in the fabrication process, if Co 2 emission reduction in blending cannot be
achieved at the same level as it is currently possible for oPCs. We also
underline the lack of studies about the alkalinity properties and carbonation
studies for belite-active BCSAF cement pastes. Pore solution chemistry, pH
evolution and carbonation tests should be measured as a function of W/C
ratio, sulfate contents and hydration temperature. Finally, BCSAF concretes
should be consistent with health and safety legislation, where more research
and work is needed.
