In-Depth Information
content. There is a specifi c reaction of genotypes: some hybrids reduced the feature
value on the extended area (МS 1/Ot 3, МS 2/Оt 3, МS 2/Оt 4, МS 3/Оt 4, МS 3/Оt 5,
МS 5/Оt 1), and other hybrids were not sensitive to such factor as the area of supply,
and some of them—МS 5/Оt 2, МS 1/Оt 2, МS 1/Оt 4, МS 1/Оt 5, МS 4/Оt 1, МS 5/
Оt 2—increased sugar content. It agrees with the observations of A.L. Mazlumov [8],
who wrote that the sugar content on different areas of supply varied in different ways.
There are plants in which the sugar content in the extended area of supply does not
change, and increases. Selection of lines with high sugar content on this background
improved the material on this feature signifi cantly.
EA supply contributed to the manifestation of high sugar content in the hybrid MS
1/Ot 5, which showed the highest value of the index (18.1%). The similar tendency
was observed in the combinations with high sugar content МS 3/Оt 1 (17.8%) and МS
5/Оt 2 (17.7%), which did not show themselves in the control variant NBCA. The best
hybrids МS 1/Оt 2, МS 1/Оt 4, МS 3/Оt 1, МS 5/Оt 2 increased the group standard for
2.5…4.8 percent in the sugar content.
The range of variation in the sugar content on EA was higher than on CA. The
amplitude values of this index varied from 15.9 to 18.1 percent (EA) and 16.4…17.6
percent (CA), with the difference of 2.2 and 1.2 percent, respectively.
Phenotypic variability of hybrid sugar content was divided on the genotypic and
environmental components by means of dispersive analysis. It turned out that the ef-
fect of the genotype in the variant on NBEA was greater than on NBCA, and was 86.6
versus 69.2 percent, respectively. It indicated a good differentiating ability of such
factors as the extended area of supply for the manifestation of the genotype. Genotypic
variance was also divided into components (Figures 19.1 and 19.2).
