To evaluate regeneration ability, the recommendations of I.A. Bondorina [17] were
used, that is, notchings (10-12 mm long, 15.5 mm wide) (Figure 15.1) with a special
cutter (Figure 15.2) were made on one-year-old shoots of the previous year of the
plants studied every decade from March till October. It is important to notch into the
cambium.

The wound, where the notching was done, was covered with transparent scotch-
tape to avoid infection and withering (Figure 15.3(a)). The equation to calculate regen-
