8.3 RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
The amount of anions in soil is considerably less than the amount of cations. Anion-
cation balance is shifted toward cations (FIGURE 8. 1-3).

On the basis of the obtained data on biogenic substances, it may be concluded that
the nitrogen in the soil is presented in three forms: ammoniacal (NH
4
+
), nitrate (NO
2
−
),
and nitrite (NO
3
−
); there is a suffi cient amount of nitrogen in the soil (Figure 8.2).
