filament is shown as being capped by capping protein, although it need not be; the daughter filament will grow
until it is itself capped, and can give rise to further daughters at any time.
FIGURE 8.5 The effects of membrane-located molecules on Arp2/3 and capping proteins mean that Arp2/3 is
active mainly near the membrane and capping protein mainly further away. This allows filaments growing usefully
towards the membrane to grow, and caps those growing pointlessly further back.
