HORSE RIDING
For a leisurely ride, head to
Centennial Park or contact the
Centennial Parklands
Equestrian Centre . They will
give you details of the four rid-
ing schools that operate in the
park. Samarai Park Riding
School conducts trail rides
through Ku-ring-gai Chase
National Park (see pp154-5) .
Further afield, you can enjoy
the magnificent scenery of the
Blue Mountains (see pp160-61)
on horseback. The Megalong
Australian Heritage Centre
has rides lasting from one hour
to an overnight ride. All levels
of experience are catered for.
CYCLING AND INLINE
SKATING
Sydney boasts excellent, safe
locations for the whole family
to go cycling. One of the
most frequented is Centennial
Park (see p127) . You can hire
bicycles and safety helmets
from Centennial Park Cycles .
Another increasingly
popular pastime in summer is
in-line skating, and skaters
can often be seen on the
paths of the city's parks as
well as on the streets.
Rollerblading.com.au runs
tours starting at Milsons Point
to all parts of Sydney. If
you're unsteady, they also do
group and private lessons.
For those who like to keep
both feet firmly on the ground,
you can watch skateboarders
and inline skaters practising
their moves at the ramps at
Bondi Beach (see p137) .

You can participate in guided
bushwalking, mountain
biking, canyoning, rock
climbing and abseiling expe-
ditions in the nearby Blue
Mountains National Park. The
Blue Mountains Adventure

for all standards of adventurer.
In the centre of Sydney,
