In-Depth Information
1. Go to the
Storage
tab, click on
New Domain
, and give a descriptive name to the
export domain. Select the data center and host.
2. Select the
Domain Function / Storage Type
as
Export / NFS
.
3. Leave the rest as default and under the
Export Path
section, enter your NFS stor-
age server FQDN followed by the export path of the export disk. For example, in
our case, the export path looks like
storage.example.com:/export/
rhev_import_export_disk
. Click on
OK
. Refer to the following screen-
shot:
4. Now, the export disk will start to show up in an unattached state for some time
before coming to the active state on its own.
5. Also, you might notice an option called
Import Domain
under the
Storage
tab;
you need to use this to move your export domain, which was configured earlier,
or ISO domain across multiple data centers in the RHEV.
So, we now have three storage domains attached and activated on our RHEV data center.
One is of the
Data
type to store virtual machine images, the second is to store ISO, and
the third is to export and import virtual machines and templates across data centers. And
the stage is set to create and manage your first virtual machine on your RHEV infrastruc-
ture, which we are going to see in detail in the next chapter.
