5. To check the newly created direct LUN, navigate to the
Disks
tab. This will dis-
play a list of all the disks by default, select the direct LUN, which will filter and
list only the created and active direct LUNs that can be used to attach to the virtu-
al machines.
To attach the direct LUN to a virtual machine, perform the following steps:
1. Log in to the
Administrator
console and navigate to the
Virtual machines
tab.
2. Select the appropriate virtual machine and navigate to
Disks
at the bottom pane of
the selected virtual machine.
3. Click on
Add
; this will open up an
Add Virtual Disk
window. Select the
Attach
Disk
radio button at the top-left corner of the window. Select the
External (Dir-
ect Lun)
radio button, and select from the list of attached direct LUNs we created
in the earlier step. Leave the
Activate
button check marked, and click on
OK
to
attach the direct LUN attached to the selected virtual machine and close the win-
dow.
4. This will attach and activate the newly created direct LUN to the selected virtual
machine, and the same thing can be cross-checked from the
Virtual Machine
Disks
tab. Selecting the
All
radio button on the bottom pane as well as in the
event log of the manager console. To verify from the guest operating system run-
ning Linux, please use the standard tools such as
fdisk
from the command line.
