Summary
In this chapter, we discussed in detail how to create Linux and Windows virtual machines
and their templates and guest agent's installations in order to enhance performance. We also
learned how to create a virtual machine from templates, clone a new virtual machine from
templates, and learned about the virtual machine snapshot features of RHEV, such as creat-
ing and restoring virtual machines from snapshots. Finally, we learned how to export the
virtual machines and templates so that they can be imported to other data centers in the
same RHEV environment as well as how to import them to a newer RHEV environment.
In the next chapter, we will discuss high availability features of RHEV, including how to
enable high availability for virtual machines and set different priorities, host high availabil-
ity and cluster policies, and live migration of virtual machines across the hosts in a cluster,
and more.
