2. Log in to the admin portal of your new RHEV environment. Navigate to the
Stor-
age
tab. Make sure that the NFS export disk is accessible by the entire host in the
data center of your new RHEV environment.
3. Click on
Import Domain
and select the
Data Center
and
Domain Function St-
orage
type from the drop-down menu.
4. Select the host from the
Use Host
drop-down menu to perform this initial opera-
tion.
5. Under
Export Path
, enter
nfsserverfqdn:/export-path
. This is
stor-
age.example.com:/export/rhev_import_export_disk
in our
case.
6. Click on
OK
, and the window will start loading with the
Importing new storage
domain
message. After a few seconds, the newly imported and exported domains
will be listed under the
Storage
tab with the status in the
Locked
state. Finally,
the status will change from
Locked
to
Up
.
7. Select the export domain, and click on the
VM Import
tab or
Template Import
tab. This will list all your virtual machines and templates that are exported and
ready to be imported to your new RHEV environment.
8. Follow the same step that we followed to import the virtual machine or template
on a different data center in the same RHEV environment to import virtual ma-
chines and templates on your new RHEV environment.
Note
Only one export domain will be attached and remain active in a data center at a point in
time.
