cattle due to tick bites have been reported to be a serious problem in several coun-
tries. However, in India, tick paralysis either has not received the attention it
deserves or is absent or rare. However, in laboratory studies in Pune (NIV), paraly-
sis in rabbits has been induced from bites, but the paralysis disappeared on the
removal of the tick from the body.
