The Corfaltur kiosk beside the
old cross (Paseo Alameda;

English-speaking staff and very unreliable opening hours.
There's an identical kiosk at the entrance to Parque
Médanos de Coro, although opening hours are similarly
lax. The website

reliable information, although the English pages didn't
work at the time of going to press.

can take you sandboarding on the Parque Médanos
de Coro dunes.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
It is possible to cross into Colombia from this region (see
box, p.886).
By bus
The bus terminal is 2km east of town on Av Los
Médanos. Taxis to and from the
casco histórico
should
cost BsF25. There's an exit tax of BsF2 to pay, with three
booths dotted around the terminal. There's an ATM but
no luggage storage.
Destinations
Caracas (several daily; 9hr); Mérida (daily
at 6pm; 10hr); Maracay (several daily; 7hr); Maracaibo
(several daily; 3hr); San Cristóbal (2 daily; 12hr); Puerto
La Cruz (daily at 6.30pm; 12hr).

from the terminal until around 5pm for closer destinations
like Punto Fijo and Maracaibo.
