café-bar, Davis , is a great place to watch
boats floating by over a drink or two.
Most of the summer beach action
happens 8km north of the centre at the
Balneario La Florida (Dec-April 8am-9pm;
AR$4; bus #153). Just south of here is the
Rambla Catalunya (with a free beach) and
Avenida Carrasco, an upmarket restaurant,
bar and club strip that is the hub of
Rosario's vibrant summer nightlife.
Pellegrini 2202, has an important
collection of European and Argentine
fine art. West of the lake, the Museo
Histórico Provincial Dr Julio Marc
(Tues-Fri 9am-5pm, Sat & Sun 2-6pm;
AR$5; T 0341 472 1457) is strong on
religious artefacts and indigenous
ceramics from across Latin America.
Che Guevara's house
Though there's little of the fanfare
about it that you might expect given his
international icon status, Ernesto “Che”
Guevara was born in Rosario in 1928.
He lived in an apartment on the corner
of Entre Ríos and Urquiza until the age
of 2, now an office not open to the
public, although there's nothing to stop
you gawking from the street. One block
north and one block east, at the corner
of Tucumán and Mitre, a mural of
Che's intense and haggard-looking face
dominates a small neighbourhood square,

he Parque de la Independencia ,
3km southwest of Plaza 25 de Mayo,
is one of Argentina's largest urban green
spaces. Within its extensive grounds are
a football stadium, a racetrack, a theme
park, a rose garden and two museums.
