EATING AND DRINKING
Aqua Marina
On the street behind the seafront. This
is the only place in El Chaco offering desserts, including
ice cream (three scoops S6), crêpes (S12) and fruit salads
(S6-8), as well as breakfasts (S6-7) and sandwiches (S5-
8). Daily 7am-noon & 5-10pm.
Brisa Marina
Right on the seafront. The most Peruvian
of all the touristy restaurants along the seafront, this place
serves a variety of
pescados a la plancha
(grilled fish; S22-
27), chicken dishes (S19) and a limited selection of vegeta-
rian options, which mostly comprise salads (S5-17). A
menú
marino
will set you back S25. Daily 7.30am-8.30pm.
Cevicherías
Off the southern end of the Malecón El
Chaco (boardwalk). This row of no-frills fish and seafood
eateries offers the cheapest set menus in town and they
usually include
ceviche
followed by a fish or seafood main
(
menú marino
S15-20).
ACCOMMODATION
As Pisco is a rather unattractive dusty town, it is best to
base yourself in the laidback fishing village of El Chaco.
All guesthouses here can arrange trips to the Ballestas
Islands and the Paracas Reserve.
