Barranco
Panamericana Sur (for Pachacamac)
beside Parque Kennedy (about 10min),
or take the Metropolitano to the
Municipalidad stop.
The best museum here is the pleasant
Museo Pedro de Osma , at Avenida
Pedro de Osma 421 (Tues-Sun
10am-5.30pm; S20; T 01 467 0141,
W museopedrodeosma.org), which
houses a good collection of religious
art, silver and antique furniture in a
stunning French-style mansion with
stained-glass windows designed by
the eponymous collector. Another
highlight is the Associación Mario
Testino , or MATE, at Avenida Pedro de
Osma 409 (Tues-Sat 11am-8pm & Sun
11am-6pm; S20; W mate.pe), housed in
another beautifully restored colonial
townhouse and the first permanent
exhibition to the UK-based fashion
photographer in his home town.
A walk across the Puente de Suspiros
(The Bridge of Sighs) to the cliffside
bars and cafés is a favourite pastime for
locals - as well as checking out some
of the colourful houses, often daubed
with graffiti, on streets such as Calle
Cajamarca - but otherwise there's
little else to see specifically; the main
highlight of Barranco is its bars, clubs
and cafés clustered around the attractive
Plaza Municipal .
