Ì TREAT YOURSELF
Paris Cayenne 59 Rue Lalouette T 594
317 617. All dark-wood-meets-anaconda-
skin chic and giant prints on the walls; this
eclectic bar/restaurant is the place to be
on a Friday night. Some of the dishes are
more inspired than others (it's di cult to
go wrong with the tournedos - the house
special) and the staff seem to live on Zen
time, but it's worth stopping by for the
ambience and the signature Paris-
Cayenne cocktail alone. Meals around €40,
cocktails €10. Mon-Sat noon-3pm &
8-10.30pm; closed Mon & Sat lunch.
DRINKING AND NIGHTLIFE
Le Bistrot 42 Av du Général de Gaulle. Perch on the terrace
of Cayenne's most popular bar for an afternoon beer, a pre-
dinner short drink, or even a liquid breakfast (coffee, that is).
There is a small dancefloor with an adjoining chillout lounge.
Daily 7am-1am.
Jungle Pub 10 Blvd Jubelin. Not the place for a quiet
drink, this lively joint with a continental feel (read: white
clientele) specializes in reggae and rock with salsa classes
on Thurs nights. Daily 7pm-1am.
Le Latino Bar 493 Route de la Madeleine. True to its
name, this is the place to show off your salsa and merengue
moves (or else watch someone else's moves over a
cocktail). Karaoke some nights. Tues-Sun 6pm-1am.
7
Le Café de la Gare 48 Rue Héder. This playful establish-
ment wears many hats: café, restaurant (serving the likes
of lamb in mango sauce; mains around €12), live music
venue (in the evenings) and even karaoke bar. Daily noon-
3pm & 7-11pm.
L'Entracte 65 Rue Justin Catayée T 594 300 137. At this
pseudo-Italian joint you can consume (actually pretty
decent) pizza, pasta and salads under the watchful eyes of
Marlon Brando and Brigitte Bardot. A number of veggie
options on the menu. Mains from €8. Daily noon-2.30pm
& 6-10.30pm.

6.30-10.30pm.
Ì Laotian market stalls Av du Président Monnerville.
Feast on nems (spring rolls), phô soup and other Laotian
dishes at the market. Portions are generous and the dishes
are full of flavour, with plenty of fresh herbs. Meals from
€5. Wed, Fri & Sat, lunchtime only.
