Plaza Santo Domingo and La Ronda
Follow Simón Bolívar east of Plaza San
Francisco to reach Quito's third
impressive square, Plaza Santo Domingo,
dominated by the sixteenth-century
Iglesia Santo Domingo . From this square
take Guayaquil to reach the narrow alley
of La Ronda , one of Quito's oldest streets.
This working-class neighbourhood has
been completely renovated; the result is
a pleasant walkway of tiny art galleries,
bakeries and traditional cafés. La Ronda
has become a popular spot at night to
listen to live music or have a quiet drink.
