ARRIVAL AND INFORMATION
By plane The best way to and from Cali's Aeropuerto
Palmaseca ( T 2 666 3200), 16km northeast of the city,
is to catch one of the regular minibuses that run to and
from the bus terminal (40min; COP$4300).
Destinations Bogotá (daily; 50min); Cartagena (daily;
1hr 25min); Medellín (4 daily; 40min); Pereira (4 daily;
30min); Pasto (2 daily; 1hr); San Andrés (daily; 2hr). Also
international departures for Lima, Panama City, Madrid
and Miami.
By bus The city's gigantic bus terminal at C 30N No. 2AN-
29, 2km north of the centre, is connected to downtown by
Mio, the e cient integrated bus system (see below). A taxi
into downtown costs COP$6000. There's a left luggage
o ce at the terminal (24hr; COP$2700/12hr).
Destinations Armenia (hourly; 4hr); Bogotá (hourly;
12hr); Manizales (hourly; 5hr); Medellin (8 daily; 9hr);
Pasto (hourly; 9hr); Pereira (several daily; 4hr); Popayán
(every 30min; 3hr).
Tourist information The Secretaria de Cultura y Turismo,
inside the Gobernación building at Cra 7 between C 9 and 10
(Mon-Fri 8.30am-4pm; T 2 886 0000).
GETTING AROUND
Much local sightseeing can be done on foot, provided
you're staying in the Granada or San Antonio neighbour-
hoods and are prepared to walk a lot.
