DRINKING AND NIGHTLIFE
São Paulo's nightlife is fantastic - a good enough reason
alone for visiting the city. Options are scattered all over
town, with things really getting going after midnight: Rua
Augusta north of Av Paulista is the uno cial nightlife

Morato Coelho and Aspicquelta) is a more upscale drinking
hotspot; nearby Pinheiros is a mix of the more artsy and
Brazilian down-at-heel; Barra Funda has big dance music
clubs; while Bixiga and Itaim Bibi also both offer good bars
and live music. Pick up Guia da Folha or Divirta-Se (every
Fri) at the tourist o ce or newsstands for entertainment
listings. Great-value performances by famous Brazilian
singers and dance troupes often take place at Auditório
Ibarapuera: see W auditorioibirapuera.com.br.
