Dropping a PDB Using the DBCA
Now that you've successfully unplugged a PDB, the next logical step to learn is how to drop
or delete a PDB:
1. To drop a PDB, launch the DBCA, and select Manage Pluggable Databases.
2. In Step 2 select Delete A Pluggable Database, as shown in Figure 11.33.

3. In Step 3, shown in Figure 11.34, choose the CDB that contains the PDB you wish to
delete, and provide the credentials for the user account with SYSDBA privileges. Click
Next to continue.
You'll see the list of PDBs available for deletion, as shown in Step 4, Figure 11.35.
Notice that the previously unplugged PDB3 is missing from the list of available PDBs.
4. Choose to delete PDB1 . Click Next to continue, and you're taken to Step 5, the Delete
Pluggable Database Summary page, shown in Figure 11.36.
5. Confirm the name of the PDB you're about to delete. If you change your mind, click
the Back button and choose another PDB. Click Finish to delete the PDB.
6. Monitor the progress of the delete in Step 6, shown in Figure 11.37. The DBCA moves
quickly to delete the PDB, and the success pop-up is shown in Figure 11.38, confirming
that PDB1 has been deleted.
