Obviously, as your retention requirement increases, your storage space requirements will
increase (since you are storing more incremental backups). However, since these backups
can be compressed, you might be able to mitigate the space usage.
Restoring from Incrementally Updated Backups
There is nothing special about restoring from incrementally updated backups. RMAN will
detect which recovery strategy will be the most efficient and act accordingly. If it finds that
there is an incrementally updated backup, then it will use that backup for restore and recovery
automatically.
