Saturation
In the course of the topic, we will often be altering the saturation of a color. Saturation is the relative vi-
brancy or purity of a hue. Figure 1-45 shows a color through various stages of desaturation. Desaturating
the colors of a design has a calming effect on the eye: it can make the image easier to look at by reducing
the vibrant nature of the digital color and provides the same slightly neutralized look of a traditional paint
