Balance
Balance is the equal distribution of elements (
Figure 1-27
). You may also find that some designs require a
sense of balance. Balance works well in some situations, but too much balance can be very boring. In nature
nothing is ever symmetrical: there are always subtle variations. There are situations where symmetry and
balance may be desired to communicate something cold, brutal, or immobile such as a robot or biomech
perhaps (
Figure 1-28
)
. Balance can also imply strength and stability.
