I want to intensify the lighting on the creature's right side (the left side of the painting). I press the Ctrl +
Alt + Shift + E hot key to create a flattened copy of all the layers on top of the layer stack. I then intensify
the levels and lower the saturation of the flattened, top layer. Now I erase most of the image, leaving a bor-
der area, giving a look of a more intense light from that side (See Figure 5-103 ) .
