From the tool options at the top of the screen, make sure that the Foreground to background solid gradient
is selected ( Figure 5-51 ) .
3. Click on the layer mask so it is active. You can tell the layer mask is active when there is a small rect-
angle around the white square of the mask ( Figure 5-52 ) .
4. Draw the gradient from the upper left to lower right of the screen. The levels will adjust to gradually
fall off across the image, giving the impression of dramatic lighting ( Figure 5-53 ) .
