In order to transform any real world space-time information data into a database,
it is necessary to model and store all the information of all the above levels.
5 Constructing scene databases
5.1 Modeling technique
As Figure 9 shows it, in our present research we introduce an approximated model
based on the meaning of the objects, with semi-automatical fitting of the sampled
data and with so-called mediators that bridge the gap between the sample data
and its meaning. These mediators represent the individual objects of the scene
with relatively good fidelity yet few polygons. We tried to construct a scene database
that maps these into virtual CG space 13) .
