IoT Preliminaries
The basic idea of IoT is to connect different objects in the real world, such as RFID,
bar code readers, sensors, and mobile phones, etc., to realize information exchange
and to make them cooperate with each other to complete a common task. The IoT
architecture is illustrated in Fig.
2.2
. IoT is deemed as the extension of the Internet
and is an important part of the future Internet. IoT is mainly characterized with that
it accesses every object in the physical world such that the objects can be addressed,
controlled, and communicated with.
